SpecimenSak is a unique specimen request solution which combines a specimen request form with an integral plastic bag, specifically designed to pass through a laser printer.

The Problem:

Utilising the internal order communications system; without creating multiple forms and bags that cause bottlenecks in pathology reception.

Solution:

SpecimenSak, the European patented laser printable specimen form and bag, enables a request to be printed via a HP laser printer with all the patient ID present, whilst also producing specimen labels for the sample containers. As SpecimenSak includes an integral bag, the requesting consultant can put the sample in, seal and send all in a few seconds. In pathology reception it’s a case of ‘scan and check’ then the system can start processing the tests. With over 500,000 being used per year, SpecimenSak is a qualified success.
